I made the mistake of buying a Pixel phone from Google and signing up for Project Fi. Don’t do it! There is no customer support. They have a call center in the Phillipines that solves any problem by telling you to factory reset your phone. That is the only tool in their arsenal. They don’t have access to actual tech support people. Instead they promise you that a real tech support person will call you back within 24 hours (sometimes they say 3-5 days). I have heard them say both. Nobody ever calls you back and if you try to complain they tell you their manager is busy and can’t talk right now but will call you back. Guess what? They don’t call you back either. Google Fi and the Google Pixel are equally terrible. I have had nothing but problems and already had my device replaced once but still more problems. Here is my case ID from Google just in case anyone at Google who actually works in IT support wants to help me. This is literally the only way to get tech support from Google.

So if i go to a verizon store and buy a google pixel up front. Does that mean i can go to MetroPCS and have a plan for that company?

Is it worth getting the Pixel if I use Straight Talk? It seems like a great phone, but yeah, I wouldn't want to spend $800-900 on a phone if it's not going to be worth it.

I just wouldn't want the phone NOT to work, ya know?

The Google Pixel will definitely work with Cricket Wireless? I hope so considering my Pixel was just shipped today to me.

A cool thing about Project Fi: It also uses Verizon's network if the other 3 aren't available– you do have to make it switch to US Cellular (so it won't do it on its own) and it is limited to 3G connectivity, but it works amazingly well in a pinch, like being in Ruralsville, USA where the only carrier that exists is Verizon.

All that for the same prices you listed in your video.

So how does it work on sprint ? Sprint doesn't have a SIM card for it.

If you have Sprint coverage, you forgot Boost Mobile and Virgin Mobile

Cricket lies and you just proved it by telling everyone it throttles after 8GB so their advertising is a lie. All mobile carriers lie about their "unlimited" data plans. I am going back to having a landline home phone and if anyone wants to reach me, leave me a message on my voice recorder box.

The GoPhone (ATT PREPAID) now has 4GB for $45 or $40 with autopay. Their $60 plan or $55 with auto refill has 8GB of data. Cricket has a deal now on the $50 plan. You should review GoPhone.

Hey, thanks for the video! What does un/throttled mean? Also, how do you know if a plan supports group messaging and picture messaging?

To add to the RingPlus free plan: You'll be charged 10 cents per text/call/mms used from the top-up. The data is throttled down to 2G.
