Here is my two cents. Cancel your data plan, and use the cell phone only for necessary voice calls. For data use only free WIFI/hot spots where ever it is available and small tablets are better than any cell phone as they are typically have bigger display. The cell phone is a scam by the mobile industry to separate people from their money.

Verizon Wireless is promoting misleading advertisement through their website and through promotional materials like TV and newspapers. Couple months ago me and my wife went to a Verizon local store to purchase a new phone with a data plan. The agent told us about the Verizon Edge Program which according to him, consisted of paying for a phone in monthly payments of $12.49 plus the data plan. In case you discontinued the plan all you had to do was to pay off the ETF which during that time was $175. We began to receive billing statements with information that was not accurate and every month we were being overcharged. We decided to cancel our plan with them and transferred our plan to Sprint. We understood the requirement of paying off the ETF and we did. We pay over the phone $197.84 which included administration fees and taxes. Couple weeks later we received a new billing statement now charging us over $237, we could not believe what are eyes were seeing. We called them and after being transferred 4 times and being on the phone for over 20 minutes we were told that now we owe for the value of the phone. Verizon Wireless with their super Edge program was charging us the value of the phone and on top of that a outrageous Early Termination Fee with a total value of $450. I warned them that their advertising is false and the information provided in the website and to multiple customers is absolutely wrong. I'm definitely considering taking legal action in order to fix this issue and help other customers who are being damaged by this company.

I have VZW unlimited data for 5yrs now and I too pay 140 a month for one line… I use a lot of data too. Anywhere from 50-80 gigs sometimes a bit more a month… I won't give that up. I hate paying that much for it but I use way to much data. Movies music and web surfing. Unlimited means unlimited. If and when VZW decides to do away with it I will go on prepay. Did u give up ur unlimited data let me know thanks.

Straight Talk throttles data to practically 2G speeds after your 2.5GB monthly allowance. Do your homework and check Straight Talk's Terms Of Service online before switching. Which is now Boost and Virgin are doing.

AT&T hasn't offered unlimited data in a long time. Don't be BSed on that one. But yet AT&T and Verizon prepaid have been offering better data packages. If you want 4G LTE data, go with AT&T. If you want 3G data, go with Verizon. Remember one thing. Verizon and AT&T caps your data. Hopefully you know what that means.

I switched from net10's unlimited plan to virgin mobile's $35 a month plan and don't regret it at all. I get decent service and it was cheaper to buy and activate the phone for virgin mobile than it would have been to pay on the other phone for another month. I was able to get an android smart phone for $20 on sale!

Ohh now that I finished watching this video I think you should go with straight talk. My reason is because straight talk is like virgin mobile but with gsm and sim cards and runs off both T-Mobile and at&t, so if one month you don't like T-Mobile try at&t with straight talk the next month when your monthly prepaid is done. Also phones from at&t and T-Mobile work on straight talk out of the box and for the internet to work you need to setup a special APN IP in settings, this works on iPhone as well. The iPhone requires jailbreak to get a special MMS app from cydia to pull MMS messages from straight talk network. Straight talk is I believe $45 a month and has unlimited data but with the 2.5 cap as well.

I'm on Verizon with unlimited data and leaving to either T-Mobile or straight talk

I had the unlimited data plan with AT&T and I was paying $90 a month and someone I know told me about Straight Talk, which uses AT&T, T-Mobile, Sprint, and Verizon network. It's a prepaid from a company called Tracfone and you can find them on Walmart. I'm a person who likes to save money and get the best out of it and decided to try it with a new number. After I tried it for a couple of days I was impressed because the service was the exact same and decided to port my original number and switch for good. I'm very happy that I did that and I'm saving double the amount I was paying per month. I get unlimited calls, texts, and unlimited data with up to 2.5GB of high speed internet of 3G/H+/LTE. If you go over 2.5GB, then they slow you down to Edge. What I like about this plan is that there are no overages and I always pay the exact same amount every month. I'm using the Galaxy Note 2 and everything is fully functional. One more thing I want to say and sorry for the long message is that now data and MMS work for the iPhone without having to set up the APN settings and doing the Sim card swipe or jailbreak. The plan is $45 a month
