Great, problem is that it's not really passthrough, one side board is charging the battery while the other side is discharging. 1) It will never reach charging termination because the load will never let the cells reach 4.2v. 2) Passthrough bypasses the cell and power the load directly, and uses the remaining amperage to charge the cells, so termination is possible.

but this seems to be risky if we use one old battery and one new battery.. it may leak or blast…what about this risk?

To do what you all are saying he can't all you have to do is wire it internally or make a special USB plug it's not hard.

Thanks for this. I was trying to figure out how to do this at double rate but I also didnt realize the other added benefits. I just ordered four of these without batteries for a total of $3.05 which is cheap for a four port option i just got six cells out of an old laptop battery that was still good but the laptop is beyond repair. I checked out some of your other videos…you have another new subscriber.

this is a pointless video lol…of-cores you can charge with one and be charging the other int the same time lol you bought two of them! this isn't a pass threw charging device or anything its just you bought two individual chargers and smash them together lol i can buy any two power banks tape them together and of-cores you can do the same thing lol its freaking two of them bought they don't even have to be the same brand if its two power banks lord.

very neat. one thing to mention is to charge them both to same voltage and capacity or it won't work and may damage the batteries

totally wrong concept on battery charging circuit, dont do this

  • Robert Cartier
    Posted at 09:26h, 03 September

    A slight clarification:

With one charging source, this combo will charge HALF as fast as usual since it now has twice the capacity. Using a second charging source will restore the charging time to what it was with a single battery. There will NOT be any accelerated super charging as alleged in the video. But that's fine, it's still a very interesting idea! I will try some tests.
    Thanks for your creativity, Kedar!

    A bit of a rant:

    BTW, Everybody,
many are calling them Li-Po, but these are not Li-Po! They are Li-ion.
    Can they be dangerous? Yes.
…Are they as temperamental as Li-Po? Not quite.

But, if you think about it, anyone who tries these hacks without researching the tech from more sources than a single YouTube video and its comments section is destined to die a horrible death anyway… So, in the interest of not having to read about all the gloom and doom on every damn video about batteries, we should just let evolution do its thing and move on…

So, can we stop pissing our pants every time someone mentions Lithium-Ion batteries now, please!? Thank you! 😉

(This rant was not directed at anyone here in particular… I guess I've been watching too many vids in a row. LOL)

you can have a 7 billion amp powerbank but charging speed is dictated by the thing you're charging…. if your phone draws an amp it will always charge at 1 amp no matter what…

very nice. Probably i can use your idea to solve my problem:
I want to replace an old lead-acid battery of my UPS with a power bank of 18650 and there are only two terminals for the lead-acid battery (positive and negative, used for charging and discharging). Thus the charging and discharging should go from the same terminals also for the 18650 power bank.
So do you think i can use your idea and to have two cables one for charging and one for discharging cut them and connect positive with positive and negative with negative terminals and then plug this to the terminals of the UPS?

did u connect positive to positive and negative to negative

  • rockyfosgate
    Posted at 09:26h, 03 September

Can charge at 1.6a but u now have twice the capacity. So it will take the same amount of time to charge.
