Senator Charles Schumer urged regulators to “use extreme caution” when reviewing the proposed acquisition of No. 3 cell carrier Sprint Nextel by Japan’s Softbank, saying the Japanese company’s use of Chinese networking equipment could open up U.S. networks to snooping and hacking.
DBRS to rate all euro zone sovereigns by year-end
The Dominion Bond Rating Service (DBRS) plans to rate the credit of all euro-zone sovereigns by year-end, from the current 10 of 17, which will give the now-missing countries one more way for the European Central Bank to weigh how valuable each nation’s debt is as collateral.
