New $38 ‘unlocked’ 2G Samsung mobile cell phone (900 & 1800 Mhz)

16 Feb New $38 ‘unlocked’ 2G Samsung mobile cell phone (900 & 1800 Mhz)

Potentially the most affordable new ‘unlocked’ mobile cell phone in Australia at the minute, is this Samsung 2G only mobile cell phone. It is NOT a so-termed ‘smart phone’, and can only be utilised for making cell phone calls or sending (and receiving) text messages….It does NOT access the World-wide-web.
The model number is GT- E1205T, and it was obtained on the net from the ‘Big W’ internet site for only $38 such as ‘shipping’ !

When I obtained it, I simply just inserted my SIM card which I use to access the Vodafone community (by way of “Transact”), and the Samsung ‘locked on’ to the Transact sign immediately.
It is 2G only, and operates in just the 900 MHZ and 1800 MHZ bands.
The receiver in this mobile cell phone looks to be additional delicate than my previous mobile phones, as I normally get ‘full bars’ within my residence – which I did not normally get with my Nokia or my Samsung Galaxy Ace !! Producing cell phone calls from within my residence is a real ‘breeze’ now, and the obtained sign is substantially clearer than any obtained call I obtained on my previous phones. (Only my Landline outperforms the Samsung for clarity of sign).

Footnote: In Australia (and the British isles), a mobile cell phone is usually termed a “cellular”.
The motive they are termed ‘cell phones’ is since they count on a radio ‘cellular network’ for their procedure.

This cell phone is now useless because all the 2G networks have been switched off.

It's almost impossible to buy one of these now!

The only problem is……it won't work when the 2G network is 'switched off'.

You don't need 3G to make a telephone call on a cell phone. In fact, you can encounter more problems if using a 3G frequency !

That's all you need…..you don't need a bloody "smart" phone which you have to recharge every second day!

It's obviously using a brand new 'chip' with low current drain and increased sensitivity in the receiver.

The better sensitivity of the receiver would be due to improved 'chip' design over the past 2 years, compared to the 5 year old Nokia you were using before.

    Cheap as chips!
