good phone, horrible review. this reviewer is bitching about the back panel? really? all phones have a cheap plastic back panel, his voice is also annoying

i dont understand why the phone is gray, metallic. if the bottom part was a black piano it will be so BEAUTIFUL. this metallic-grey bottom is just wrong.

Lol this looks garbage, its speed is the same as my 2010 smartphone that i had. LG Volt is so much better.

Very nice 720p screen. Snapdragon 400 chipset. 5" edge-to-edge screen. 8MP camera (doesn't take great pictures, but decent ones) and moderate battery life make this device a steal at $239USD. Enough can't be said for actually owning your device. The only drawbacks are that it is still running Android 4.4.2 (as is my GS5) and who knows (if ever) when Sharp/Sprint will okay a 4.4.4 update or even… **gasp** a "Lollipop" upgrade. The retro-modern looks embodied by this phone (it reminds me somehow of a futuristic phone from an 80s movie) gives it a real cool factor. Nice job Sharp!

I'm not complaining, love my aquos crystal …and to be honest my boost service is actually surprisingly better then my previous contract phone. So all smiles my way…

:: I just got this phone, and let me tell you its AMAZING to look at!! There are phones that cost double or triple then this phone and they don't look as good as this one, gadget lovers will love it!!! GET ONE. The only con is that the back is on a slim budget, many clipping small tabs, one broke off, and I wasn't really forceful, so be careful! Hey, just put shitload of GB memory, and you don't have to worry about taking the back off (Battery is sealed)

I personally think that the stuff generally on the top should have stayed there. Otherwise, most epic budget phone ever. Plz Sharp make a high end version!

To all those who are concerned with performance and whether or not will it be fast enough, here's my 2 cents. Keep in mind that those are the opinions of a very experienced power user (in other words, you can trust what I'm saying). The Snapdragon 400 is an EXCELLENT processor, have you ever tried it? It is more than enough for every task you wil ever find yourself doing on your phone (which limits to browsing/facebook/instagram/gmaps for 50%+ of users) and provides exceptional performance while using way less power than those beefier processors out there. Regarding the 720p screen it also is more than enough for a 4.5 inch screen (my 1st gen moto G looks crystal sharp no pun intended) not sure for a 5 incher, but keep in mind that less pixels equals to less battery usage (which for a phone amounts to roughly 60% of battery consumption). RAM size could have been better (2 Gigs would have been perfect) but here the price factor comes into play.

TL;DR: Don't be scared by popular belief regarding performance issues, this phone will chug along for the next 2 years effortlessy.

P.S: plz upvote in order to let the people know the truth: THE CAKE IS A LIE!!!!!!!

adore the 'edgeless' display, but the overall design is disappointing, the bottom bezel should be glass and be black to enhance the large screen notion, not the cheap looking metal, and the back of the phone is so ugly, doesn't come together with the rest of the phone, shame though, because this phone has so much potential.

I like it, it's different. IPhone and Samsung phones look too much alike. Phone design seems to run out of idea especially Apple.

  • niczonfire
    Posted at 06:13h, 15 March

If only the specs is a little bit higher its gonna be better than samsung and iphone, that design thou.

OMG NICEST PHONE OUT RIGHT NOW, reallyyyyyyy gorgeous.
    But…

    WHY SPRINT?!?!?

  • Tan Sopheak
    Posted at 06:13h, 15 March

    where is the ear speaker..

  • gphillimo
    Posted at 06:13h, 15 March

Phone is ugly to me because of the bottom bezel. They could have made it half the size and still fit the logo and speaker on it

  • Preduna Tudor
    Posted at 06:13h, 15 March

How do you talk on it if the speaker is on the bottom bezel?

  • OneElection08
    Posted at 06:13h, 15 March

Sharp is pushing the boundaries… They definitely have a unique phone with the Sharp Aquos Crystal… It's too bad it's with Sprint. And I also don't mind the bezel. I also wouldn't mind paying under $400 for a fantastic phone… I'm not willing to pay $250 for a so-so phone though.

But hopefully there are people who like this phone and reward Sharp for pushing the boundaries.

    Posted at 06:13h, 15 March

so you have to flip the phone upside down to listen to your call because the speaker is on the bottom? SO MUCH WORK.

  • Jule Williams
    Posted at 06:13h, 15 March

Attractive until you see the back. I like it, and I don't use phones much outside instagram, texting, spotify, and google maps so the price is perfect. Don't need anything to hi-tech.

You know, if they released a flagship version of this, I bet it would sell very well. specs like 1080p, 2-3gb ram, expandable storage, at least faux aluminum or (if awesome) a full aluminium chassis, 13-16 mp camera, 4.4.4, etc… It honestly looks great. The selling point would be DAT STYLE. Really, it a very eye catching design. I would love to see Sharp possibly do at least a mid-high end device with specs listed. It would be awesome! Even as is, it seems very cool when considering it's rivals at the price point.
