Smartphone Review: Galaxy Mega 2 on AT&T – Samsung’s Budget Phablet

15 Sep Smartphone Review: Galaxy Mega 2 on AT&T – Samsung’s Budget Phablet

The Mega is Samsung’s way of bringing a big screen to a mid-range budget. The Mega 2 shows some refinement over the original, but does this experiement hold up in an era of incredible entry level phones? Let’s take a look!

Great review! Are you planning to do a comparison of Mega 2 and S8 plus?

aside from the galaxy note 3, this is the best phone that Samsung has brought out..they rushed all other phones and they all come with massive defects ..its 2016 and I still have this phone in an immaculate condition ,free from junk ,working excellent everyday..

I'm getting one today for zero bucks, for a free galaxy phablet it looks like the right choice as this review was 5months ago. Prices are different and I have no cash lol so for free it's god

I'm 6 foot 5 and I own this phone. Pretty much why I bought it was because it actually felt comfortable in my huge hands. And it keeps up with alot of high end phones out there. Great pick (for me). But yes there are some things about this phone that I have noticed to be annoying at times, but that hasn't made me regret this buy, by any means. Good review bud!

I had galaxy mega 6.3 and I am satisfied everthing with it because it's a large phone. But sometimes it hangs when I'm watching you tube I don't know if it caused the wifi signal is slow. That's only my problem. I recommend mega 6.3 is good device. recently about a week's ago, I bought mega 2 and my mega 6.3 I gave it to my brother. Every time I use my mega 2, I keep on thinking my gigantic phablet the mega 6.3 lol. I keep comparing the two devices. But I was suprised my mega 2 it never hang when I watch movie on you tube and there's something new in the system. But I still miss my mega 6.3 Lol.

I like midranger devices.. It's my goto market for mobile phones.. I can't justify the prices of high-end phone, and entry models are just too stripped down for my uses. Therefore mid-range phone are the sweet spot. Great phone review here.. I'm more a Windows Phone guy so but that Galaxy Mega looks alright. I agree the price is a turnoff. It's too close to high end price categories.

Midrange phablets seems like the perfect phones for someone's dad. If your dad is not tech-savvy he'll probably not care much for flagship specs or power-user features, but will definitely appreciate a large 6 inch screen and the good price.

Had a mega 6.3 that died in an accidentloved its s reen size and pretty snappy for a dual core plus 3200 nah battery. Have to say after seeing the mega 2 it was a disappointment by comparison.samsung should have given these phones better hardware and more ram.  a 7inch mega would jave been great with 2megs of ram an improved camera and beefier chipset

I can find a few phones a little smaller that can beat it brand new, the Desire 816, better yet the Desire 820. The 820 has an octa-core processor, 13 MP camera and the Adreno 405. I think it's the same price or somewhat cheaper.
I don't think my kids would be able to handle the phone. The Note 2 was too big for my wife but she likes big things…like cars and phones. She actually likes the Mega 6.3 better than the Mega 2. My friend has one and the Mega 6.3 has a SC-LCD. The last time we saw the actual Super Clear LCD was in a variant of the Nexus S. Believe me it doesn't look bad for 720p. The design choice for the Mega 2 is a bit bland because it looks exactly like the Note 4. The Mega 6.3 was shaped more like the S4 but it looks different still. You can see some design elements form the S4 Sport as well. I rpefer high end phones but there was something about the Mega 6.3 I liked. If I get one for my wife then I'll see how it goes there are pretty cheap now and then I'll compare it to a Mega 2 at Best Buy when I do.
