I use your method swap the SIM card with adaptor from my iPhone 5s. 2g phone doesn't need to activate and just open. When I use *3282# , it doesn't change to unlimited and still in my current plan. What happen?

At&t has audits on these account and if it sees a smart phone it will change the plan automatically.

so your saying everyone must settle for the unfair data plans the cell companies inflict upon us? I'd rather dare to be different.

so you dont think they can catch on to this and surcharge you for scamming them what if they send you a big overage charge later after you think your getting all your overage data for free.

you found a loop hole, made a YouTube video about it and hope that AT$T does not see this and FIX that loop hole…. you sir are a genius and get a haircut…!!

  • Chubbysumo
    Posted at 00:43h, 30 November

@jvoisin27 they fixed the data loophole on this, and just like AT&T, their pre-paid and pre-paid MVNO(resellers) have data disabled and not available for Iphones(for other smartphones, yes, but NOT for the iphone). The only thing you can do now is anon your device and install modified carrier settings so that it will use proper AT&T tower settings. This will also count against your alloted data correctly. This also works for AT&T go phone Pay as you go plans.

Just jailbreak your iPhone 4 and get straight talk. 45 month unlimited everything

    Posted at 00:43h, 30 November

Even if you do get the Unlimited data plan, AT&T will throttle you before you reach 2 GB's of data usage. There is no way around it.

the activation screen never pops up on me it just says iPhone activated on the home screen

  • MatTZI014
    Posted at 00:43h, 30 November

Well I currently have my activated sim in the original iPhone with the 2GB plan. If I call AT&T and ask them to change me to the 2G unlimited data plan and see that I have an iPhone 2G, will they give it to me?

  • Kevin Luna
    Posted at 00:43h, 30 November

I Do Not Think This Works Anymore, iTunes Will Not Pop Up An Activation Window. The Window Stoped Poping Up About 2 weeks Ago.

  • MatTZI014
    Posted at 00:43h, 30 November

I've restore this with a 2G iPhone and put in my current iPhone 4's sim card and it doesn't work!! It says iPhone "is activated" It does not bring me to an activation page through iTunes. I'm currently on the 2GB plan. How do I get unlimited data?

  • Wilbur Yoshi
    Posted at 00:43h, 30 November

HELP!!! I seem to be the only one with this problem… I have followed the process step by step but once I do a full restore in iTunes, iTunes WON'T bring me to the activation screen. The iPhone 2g just says "iPhone is activated." I even went into the AT&T store & got a new SIM card (but they still activated it) & went through the same process & same result. Should I get a new "unactivated" SIM card, will that work? Please help, it's getting frustrating. Thanks.

Sorry if I'm repeating a question that's already been asked, but will this still work??? And what do you mean by post paid plans?? Am I to understand that you can't do prepaid unlimited data plans, but you can still get post paid unlimited data plans?? Also what're the minutes & texting rates like? Are those unlimited too?? Thanks!!!

  • jlhunter2008
    Posted at 00:43h, 30 November

@loopy5476 Did you ever find an answer to your question? I am having the same issue.

  • jlhunter2008
    Posted at 00:43h, 30 November

Why is it when I plug in the iPhone 2G after doing a restore, instead of coming up with activation screen the phone immediately says it's activated? I haven't put any of my info in so the number on the phone says unknown.

@shyshy8oh8 just an update this still works. I did it yesterday I had to go I'm the att and tell them I need a new sim card and to activate my phone again and boom the rep said " your unlimited plan will now cost $30 and your good to go.

  • bigsqearl21
    Posted at 00:43h, 30 November

  • Michael States
    Posted at 00:43h, 30 November

Hello, I'm stuck at the dreaded "Your activation requires additional time to complete."… Should I just hang tight, go to the store, or call customer service? The reps have to know what is going on by now and I don't want to mess something up by being impatient…

    Thanks again, great video!
